You probably need to download PVR ready software from www. technomate.com and flash it to your reciever, then press usb button, scroll down to management, then in there scroll to format, press ok , then yes, then it should record.

thanks a lot for your answer but i don't know what it is the "PVR ready software".

I have downloaded the last firmware for the 5400 on the Technomate web site and i have upload it on my receiver but i have always the same error when i try to record on an USB key.

I search but i don't find a "PVR ready software" to download on the Technomate web site.

Can you give me most precision about this or can you give an internet link to download the rigth software.

Thanks.

It should be on the 5400+ usb download, if you have it you should have management after data transfer in the usb menu, if its just the unscrambled channels that wont record and the fta ones are ok,It should work by using the timer, try press epg on remote, press red button for timer, select event 1, go down and select a start and finish time, set record on and power off to on, then press menu and save, then it should work.
If your using darkman patch the later ones can cause this problem they recommend using earlier patch 1.08 with latest softcam keys, you can get it from alsat, you will lose some channels though.

In fact, my receive have the good firmwre for the USB.
I have try to record on a FTA channel and it works , but i have try another time on a crypted channel and it doesn't works.

So, i have try to record a crypted channel with a programmation (via EPG touch) but i have always the same error "error occured".

For resume, i can record a FTA channel but i can't record a crypted channel

I will try to contact Technomate support to resolve my problem.

Thank you for your help.

Just checked out the forum after an absence.

If you were trying to record an encrypted channel, then that is the error message you will get. You can only record encrypted programmes if you use an earlier version of the software patch from the a*s*t website:-
http://****t.co.uk/forum/attachment....6&d=1196512990

If that is not the problem then perhaps you need to (re)format the usb stick in fat32.
