Hello
I now have 2 computers, and in each computer I run one technotrend 1501 on progdvb (freeware), i get the softcam keys from my card thru an Phoenix usb cardreader, and share it to the other computer by lan. So long fine, but the older computer (primary recorder & cardserver newcs) sounds so mutch. Now i want to move the Phoenix usb cardreader and the other technotrend 1501 card into my new computer. What software shud i use, to record 2 diffrent channels at once? I have tried Media Portal with mdapi plugin but it only works 1 of 10 times, and i want a stable recording machine. |

No reason i know of that would stop you using 2 1501 cards in one machine. in fact i'm pretty sure i've read on this forum of people doing the same... not sure if ProgDVB can deal with it, i'm assuming you'd need multiple instances of the app to make use of it ... again assuming here.. but i'm guessing you want to watch one channel whilst you record another...
Edit : CPU usage might be somethign you want to consider if you are watching / recording an HD input.. with ProgDVB / DVB Viewer you can turn off the graph but again you'd be relying on multiple software instances running independantly to acheive this.. wouldn't hold out oo much hope of MediaPortal or GBPVR supporting that..(seeing as MP is flaky at best with DVB-C and GBPVR wont even scan the source without crashing for me) Last edited by danmed; 20-07-08 at 12:11 AM. |

Ok tnx for reply
I might fill in some details my cards are dvb-c (technotrend 1501) the computer is a Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3GHz Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3 4Gb Corsair PC6400 WesternDigital D6400AAKS 16MB 640GB I will not record any HDchannels just regular digital cable. it wud be great if i cud watch tv and record on it but i might settle for just record on it. On summertime (nights) it airs alot of old reruns i want to record. I just want to put it away in a corner and it will record whats it told set on timer i will not watch tv on it just timer record, then after record i will transfer the .ts streams over the network for dvdauthoring.Ive tried the two cards in this machine but i thought the driver thought it only was one turner becourse of in Device Manager i only cud see one turner. ( correction i can see 2 units in device manager but they have the exact same name) dont know if that mess things up. I use this driver TT-budget C-1501 (BDA) Version 5.0.0.19 (27.05.08) On Windows Vista 64bit. Last edited by dualdvb; 20-07-08 at 09:27 PM. |
