Default Please Help New To My Tm5400

i recently bought a tm5400 ci usb pvr ready. the box also said connex embeded. i had a 90cm motorised dish installed. i thought the heavenly gates to dicovery channel, whacky american reality and films were open but that was not to be. there was no card with the receiver as i found out. i have a load of fta channels. i'm thinking of buying a diablo cas 3 and a card. will this solve my problem with getting scrambled channels?
i noticed on kingofsat.com that very few channels are connex encryprion. would i be able to use my cas 3 to change encyption modes to say iderto or viaccess? is this legal?

Go to Alsat and download darkman patch and latest softcam keys, look in the technomate section, that opens a lot of channels, you can use usb stick or use darkman loader with serial cable.

Please ignore me teaching ny grandmother to suck eggs - but have you registered on Alsat? If not then you are not going to see the Technomate section which is about halfway down the page.

You need to download the latest loader if you are going to use the serial/null modem method of flashing the box with Magic's latest patch see Software section. Alternatively an done of the reasons for buying the TM5400 series download the latest patch onto a USB pen/key drive and flash it that way via the menu.

Once you've found the TM section there are plenty of "stickies" to advise you what to do!

Good luck. . .

Cleric is right you have to register to see it, the darkman patch is the main firmware for opening channels, the softcam keys update it if keys have changed, the loader is the programme used for flashing via rs232 serial cable, if you use a usb stick you dont need the loader, just download patch and keys and save onto stick, then flash to reciever by plugging in usb, press usb on remote then scroll down to data transfer then ok, you will see file list, click on patch first let it load ,then keys, then reboot ie turn power off then back on, then check out all the new channels.

Hi,

I am also quite new to this and have got the patch working, however it mentions Showtime and I can't get these too open. I know that Nile 7W is supposed to be hard to get in the UK (I have a 1m motorised dish), but it is in the correct place and I have rescanned the box and it has returned lots of chanels such as Showcinema. They just don't seem to open?

Thanks
