everytime i connect up the maxv and scan am getting no signal even though my virgin box works fine,i took the box to my brothers and connected it to his cable and it worked perfectly when i connected it to my cable still flashing no signal.
I realise the fault is with my cable is there any kind of signal booster i could try or has anyone got any suggestions. the cable comes direct from the brown box outside within the box is a splitter to feed my broadband(same problem on the broadband line) any help would be appreciated |

Is this box new? When/why did this problem start happening? What % is your signal at? And lastly, what firmwre is on your box?

You could be suffering from either too strong or too weak a signal.
Too strong a signal - try plugging your cablefeed into the LOOP OUT socket instead of the RF IN socket (you will need to by a little adapter) and see if that improves things for you. Too weak a signal - you could try flashing your box with 28/4/08 8% signal fix and see if that sorts you. If not, then you can simply re-flash it with the 18/4/08 firmware and we can work from there.

we had had a similar problem and it all boiled down to the adaptor which was supplied with the box,the centre was missing thus there was no contact to the box which meant the channels were there but no signal hope this yours uis the same problem,as it will be easy to fix.

its got to be the splitter matey. i dont reckon its because of a "too strong signal" as that would affect your virginy box. try the loop thing though and the latest firmware anyway. try a new splitter and new connectors. it will be something daft i reckon.
