Default Popped my cherry but...

Hi guys last night i used my first EV. I flashed it and scanned for channels but got no TP (on vmedia so changed the symbol rate to 6887) Reflashed and added the CDF for my area and that gave me alot of channels but not all so i cleared the channels and rescanned on 6952 and i got all the channels and they work, however...

I do get on some channels "BAD OR NO SIGNAL" i was wondering what this was about as it came up on bbc2 idsnt that abit strange?

Also wondering what the story is with the symbol rates is as i was assured that Vmedia was 6887?

cheers for your help

try the latest firmware update. scanning is then alot easier as it gives both options for the symbol rates. try scanning a few times over and over. also make sure the booster option is on. try the update with the 8% signal upgrade. this should solve the problem.

There are two different "SYMBOL RATES" in the UK,

6887 NTHELL
and
6952 TELEPEST.

power scan on your

"SYMBOL RATES"

There are some areas in the UK where the provider may have changed a number of times over the years and tho you are now with VM your symbol rate was never altered from that of the original provider.

This is by no means unique
