Hi All,
I have a 80gb 2.5 ide hard drive that has been partioned 30/50 etc I would like to restore the drive to 1 partition of 80 gb, is there a way to do this. Thanks Taz

if your using windows, insert the cd, when prompted choose to delete the partitions that already exist, then create one new big one simple as that, you will lose all data on the drive , so back up anything that you dont want to lose with either norton ghost or acronis true image, if you want to back up the entire drive including windows, use the dos version of either program, i've used ghost dos for a complete restore many times without problems, im trying acronis at the moment but im far from familiar with it. gl.

The drive I have does not have operating system etc is was external drive full of photies and music etc which I have deleted. I now want to delete the smaller partition and re-use the drive as a 80gb drive for my pvr Help appreciated Thanks Taz

Connect the drive. Than go to Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Computer Management > Storage > Disk Management. Remove the partitions (right click the partition and select "Delete Partition"), then reformat the drive as one partition (right click unpartitioned space and select "Format").
If you have Vista it might be different, but should be something along the same lines. |
