Hi one and all,
Hope you can help - Newbie! I've just moved into a new house which has a sky dish! I'm currently on NT hell, but I was with sky about a year ago and have the box, card and remote! I connected it up when i first moved in a few weeks ago but only got a few channels - 1,2,3 and and few others!!! is there anything i can do get a few more??? I know they can't be modded and I wouldn't even try a sky box but can I adjust any settings to get more or do I havbe a big paper weight??? Ta Geo99 |

Hi welcome to the forum
![]() There is not much that you can do with a sky box! only watch sky ![]() If you want more channels via satellite, then maybe you could go down the motorised route, plenty of info here regarding set up ![]()

List those channels you can receive / can't receive.
It may be your card is too old to decode Five but you should be able to receive all BBC, ITV, C4 channels and some others. If a significant number of those are missing it may indicate a receiver or LNB fault (is the LNB previously used ?) Or the receiver may need a firmware upgrade (I'm not sure of the procedure but someone on here wil be). |

With a Sky box you will be able to receive all the FTA channels on 28.2E.
If you are not receiving them all, the receiver may needed to have it's software updated via an OTA upgrade. The sky boxes do this by themselves when connected, but you may need to initiate a forced update. (I don't know or care to know how to do this). I'd leave it plugged in for a day or so, and see what happens. Robbo ![]() |

SKY DIGIBOX FORCED DOWNLOAD
1.Unplug from Mains. 2.Hold Backup,on the digibox, not the remote control, while Plugging back in. 3.When all front panels lights come on, release Backup 4.Wait approximately 10 mins until Box goes into Standby 5.Before you start check Service 4, 5 and check your current EPG Version (The latest is 3.6.4.18) If using Scart, your TV screen wil display appropriate status messages. |
