You need a null modem cable, (and from the chatterbox toolbar or the private fta forum) a gtrom 4.0 loader and the latest cryptstar 1.4 clonesafe software .bin file for your model of Starview
Connect the box to the pc via the null modem cable and power up the box
First of all save your channel data Run the gtrom loader, in FILE TYPE select channel data file and click the upload button this will open an explorer box where you can give the channel data file a name and select where to save your file on your computer, it will be saved as a .bin file, you will be able to download this back to your box to save you having to rescan and sort channels out again after you flash.
Now load new software to the box In gtrom loader select App File Only, click on BIN FILE this will open an explorer window, browse to your .bin file and click on it, this will place the file in the explorer box , now click on Open and this will place the file into the gtrom loader Click the DOWNLOAD button and this will transfer the file to your box
After the box is flashed you can then re-download your channel data file In gtrom loader click the BIN FILE button this will open an explorer box , browse to your channel data file and click on it,this will place the file in the explorer box, now click Open and this will load the file into the gtrom loader. In FILE TYPE select Channel Data File then click the download button. This puts all the channels, frequencies etc to your box in the same order you had them prior to flashing. Your box just needs reconnecting back to your TV and it will be up and running

EDIT : if you don't have a rs232 port only a USB you will need an extra adaptor
