Default Passion HD Firmware update

They are coming thick and fast at the moment,

New patch on the FS website for the Passion HD

Firmware HD Passion ( July 24, 2008)
Latest Firmware for Passion HD satellite receiver.
You can Upgrade your STB using USB.
DiSEqC1.2 modification

Firmware fixes the "nudge" issue that some users were having but there seems to be an issue with C4HD as it reboots the receiver if you select this channel.

Just found out that another patch will be coming out over the next 24 hours, this one to fix the C4HD reboot issue.

Well I perfomed (standing on my head..) the update.

all is well, the pic has improved a bit, but I am a sucker for placebo effect...

Anyone know when C4HD likely to be FTA?

Just copy it to a flash stick, and either load via the menu system, or on switch on, use the centre button on the box to select file1 when boots. Do bear in mind though, Fortec state on their website that if you do update the firmware,it invalidates the warranty on the box.

Question Re: Passion HD Firmware update

Can someone advise me on this too?

Here's my query:-

I have a PASSION HD receiver (NOT a Passion+) and after much resistance I decided to update the firmware (mainly so that I can receive the ITV HD channel).
I downloaded the latest file (and the one before it) from Fortec's website, unzipped it and loaded it onto my pen-drive.
When I try to transfer the data it get's to about 90% then fails.
ANY IDEA'S?
I have tried it umpteen times, even the 2008 firmware, and it fails at the same point - or thereabouts - every single time.
Can't see as I am doing something wrong, but you never know.
Anyone care to help???

Thanks in advance.

Mike

Try a different USB pen drive. For some reason the Passion doesn't work well with some pen drives.

This happened to me, I found out that the 1.5 loader file on their website is corrupt!

I installed loader 1.4 and the firmware updated ok, and had no trouble locating ITVHD afterwards. Can't remember where I got 1.4 from - try googling for it, that may work?

Try using the controls on the receiver not the remote. The software will not upgrade if you use the remote.
