Hi,
Need some advice so sorry about the long description but I thought I would try and explain my issue. I was using the Lincsat beta6 image FTA and then did the fix for other channels. This was working fine other than some of channels coming up blank but the sound coming through. This was sometimes resolved by changing the channels up or down and back or restarting the evocamd. Thinking I could update the image I downloaded some of the latest images from the downloads section and starting loading them on the dbox. With the lincsat beta6 when scanning it does so for a few seconds and then comes back with no channels found. Same with Commando and laky pro. I am now trying the Andromeda and it found 376 transpnders but has not found any channels yet as of 76/376. I had this problem on sportster and blade quad also. I am not using any splitters or anything other than the original cable from the wall. If I am picking up transponders should I not be picking up channels? I tried copying an image from a working dbox with the lincsat FTA imaged released last month. The image copied fine but I cannot get a scan to work? Hence why I am trying the andromeda image. I have also tried copying back the service and bouquets from a working image and tried to rescan but am still perplexed? Can anyone kindly provide some help on what I may be doing wrong or advice how to get this working? |

Have you used the Set My Location option from the blue button menu?
Just select your location from the choices offered box should reboot if not reboot manually then do your scan. |

If you copy services and bouquets over via FTP and they are the correct ones for your area then all you need to do is use remote and press dbox > service > reload channel list.............no need to scan !!!!

sounds more like a tuner problem to me....... if the box was working fine then after a while you noticed channels dissapearing and slowly things getting worse... classic symptoms of a dieing tuner.
when tuners scan and find some channels but not all,,, that is a tuner on its way out.. eventually these tuners stop finding anything at all during scanning. of course there are a lot of variables one has too work thru before giving up on a dbox but from those symptoms it sounds terminal. just my opinion !! ive seen many dboxes and its becomming second nature. regards |

Have seen many more than you mate And people are often to quick to jump on the Tuner band wagon In fact ive seen very few with naff tuners Most can be brought back to life with the Booster But as you say its a question of elimination Which will end at the Tuners Doorstep When all other Avenues have been Explored Be Happy ...................Paul

This is an image problem guys. All the latest images are well known to have issues with scanning........we await the fix from the boffins. As previosly advised the OP said he could FTP services and bouquets into the image........If they are good for the area this should be all that is needed.
No one should ever need to scan unless the CCs move channels around onto different transponders or on the odd occasion when a new channel becomes available. Always keep a back up of your services and bouquets so that you can upload them to the image of your choice. |

Have to agree with rodboy on that one as the scanning menu within the cvs has changed and seems to have affected the uk scanning options.
As rod says if you have an upto date services then a simple ftp should get u going with no need for a rescan. |

Ok,
After trying all of the above and just doing the channel refresh it is still not working. So I think this may be a tuner problem. I'll try and get one of those signal boosters from Maplins as Rodboy has suggested and try and scan again or just do the refresh. If not I think this box has had its day. So the next question that begs is is there any place releiable in the UK I can order another Dbox if required? |
