Sorry m8 you've lost me here, all the software you need to load onto your box is the GTRom_8.00e, you wont need cryptstar v-2.57.
When your box is connected to your pc, open the GTRom_8.00e and press download

Have you done as smoggy suggested and connected a null modem cable to the Usb adaptor , then open the GTRom_8.00e and press download

The symptoms you are seeing is the same as if it isn't connected
When you go into device manager can you see your box and is the port setting in the range of 1 to 4 |

When i was flashing mine, i read somewhere that there is a problem with VISTA and the Usb adaptor and it was best to go for the null modem cable. You could search for compatibility problems and maybe that would help.

Should work fine on Vista once you have the correct driver installed and comm port selected. There is even a compatibilty mode in Vista but you dont need to use this.
When you say its connected is it going through the flash process or not? Make sure you have a null modem cable and not a standard RS232 cable, as stated try it from a standalone PC direct from its serial port. |
