yes when i bought cable it was male ended so had to get an adaptor.why will that casu problems.im just home now so hopefully you will be able to help me,

hey satsmo the thing is im not sure if this cable is a null modem one.its a trend net TU-S9 cable. i have everything plugged in. i went to control panel then device manager then clicked on the port of the tus-9 advanced settings.
I can only use port 2 as it says the rest are in use,i did this and the Ufl flash keeps saying 'waiting for response' |

The cable you have is a USB adapter, you cannot just use that alone you need to use it in conjunction with a null modem cable. As I have listed above.
