Patching your Technomate 1000 series
The firmware updated fine to the latest one, no problems there. The problem is the USB, it won't show the patches I have put on it so I can use file tranfer in the menu

I take it that you unzipped or 'unrar'ed them?

Yep all unzipped. I just thought of something. Not too sure if it does make a differance. My USB is basically a card reader with a 2gb sd memory in it. Would this effect it?

Would probably need to be a single-slot card reader (only possible for one card to be physically installed) as a multi-slot card reader which can allow a PC to mount two or more cards would be just too complicated for a receiver to host.
A single-card reader should appear equivalent to a flash/pen drive.

Poundland often have such a device.

I'll pop down to Staples and just get a cheapo one (1gb for £5).

Sorted!!! It was okay with the flash drive, loaded the patches no problem.
I'm using the Sky dish and was wondering if I install a twin LNB would I be able to receive the channels on SKY without the NDS encrypition?

Not after SKY movies/sports just some of the other channels which are on Hotbird but encrypted by Via and connex.
