Reading through some of the posts is usually a good start to building up some knowledge.

Downloading the "Haynes Manual" is also a good start.

what modem do you have?
Is it already flashed?
everything is coverd in the manual.
what you need depends on what you want to do.
without knowing exactly what you want to do how can anyone help ?
Im only new to this so cant help a great deal but within hours of getting a modem i was up and running because i spent several days just reading about what was needed.

got ambit 250 and not flashed just wanted to know how to flash it.

am usin 250 final tutorial, i got upto here

Use the com port that your serial is connected to on your PC using these settings:
Bits per second: 115200
Data bits: 8
Parity: None
Stop bits: 1
Flow control: None
Power the modem up.(without the cable feed in)

Code:
Enter '1', '2', or 'p' within 2 seconds or take default...

when i power up where do i enter the code? this is where am stuck.

also where do i get MAX232 interface. i think i need that one in order to flash it.

you use the settings u have at the top for hyper term....u don't have to enter any code, what it means in the tut is that when connected to hyper term with those settings u will see the message to hit option 1,2 or p u want to hit option P and do it quick or u'll miss it ,if ur not seeing this when u set up hyper term then u have a modem thats took the boot loader up date ....once u hit the P option fast enough u will see where u are on the tut from there.
