just bought eurovox maxv can't get no channels and sinal quality is 8% is the box goosed or can I update it to fix prob .have dbox2 running of same cable so not a signal issue for sure ???? please help

Are you using a splitter? If so try putting feed directly into ev.
Check all connections
The max v has a inbuilt signal booster, find it in the menu. if its on turn it off, if its off turn it on, then try another scan. a signal that is too strong has the same effect on the box as a low signal.

When you turn the signal booster on or off you must then turn the power of to the box completely by unplugging the power cable for about ten seconds for the changes to take effect,if you dont turn the box off you will not notice any difference to the signal strength.

yup before you try any signal boosters or that what firmware versiohn are you running m8 also what box 2006 , 2007 or 2008

box is 2008 DVB-XC box V TDA s\w ver 1.0 stc4 oct 29 2007 hw ver 2.0t k5 bootstrap v001 sw build kuro hope it needs just firmware update have looked into the vents on front left and it got green capacitors does that confirm its not a clone

yes got the toolbar all recent images etc there doesnt seem to be communication between box and pc using null modem cable
