I just bought 5 modems off Ebay and they work fine and have not taken the alex update and all you need to do is input your setting for your area thats all and none have taken the update.
Because if they have they have to state it especially off the guy I bought mine from

I stand corrected then mate, all the 250's i've got recently have had the update. Must be a good supplier.

I have tried to follow the instruction but i didn't get the 1,2 or p option, i will try it again tonight but if i don't get these options and it has taken unupdate can it still be fixed (not me but some1 who knows what he is doing.)

Also this is what hays mannual says:

7a. Updating Ambit 250 to hacked firmware
To flash the firmware onto the Ambit250 you must use a MAX232/233 interface. Connect this up as per-normal. Connect up the cable feed to the modem, and the Ethernet cable to the PC LAN card.

and u guys are saying no cable feed which is it?
am trying to follow it do i ignore "Connect up the cable feed " this part.

plz b patient guys am noobs.

bit of a bump - don't visit forums often now due to work.

Yeah cabuukar, can be fixed, but needs TSOP chip removing and reflashing.

With 250's now, never plug in feed till it's sorted.

and do i need programmer to do that (apart from soldering kit) if so waht kinda of programmer and where can i get it thatnks.
