You can do if you want to, or you can leave it is, although it is not quite right, the motor needs twisting round the pole just a touch.

What I have done in the past, when I can be bothered, is to send the dish to Thor, then change the angle of Thor in 0.1 steps from say 0 to 2W, and note down when the quality drops off. Then make sure that 0.8 is in the centre, if not, you can see by how much you have to swivel the motor round by. On a 2 inch pole 1º is approx 0.5mm movement.

Robbo you do need to skew the LNB, we do it all the time and see a big difference on signal when we do.

Not on a motorised dish, if you skew it on 16E, when you move the dish back to Thor, it would still be skewed, when in fact the satellite is vrtually straight ahead and no skew needed. Perhaps on some LNBs zero skew isn't where it is expected to be exactly.

We skew on Thor all the time on set up! So I tend to differ on this, as I have seen it done myself by my engineer and myself!

Depends on your location as well.
To be fair, many will leave the LNb dead str8 but if your using a pro meter you might as well skew for 1w after you have sent the motor there first for set up

When you say skew the LNB on Thor what do you mean? Do you mean turn the LNB if so which way? I have always left mine dead straight and get a signal of 89% - 93% on BBC World.
