Just installed Triax 80cm, with diseqc 1.2 motor with a technomate 5400 ci.
My latitude is 52.460, longitude 1.695.(Lowestoft) So i've set my Elevation to 38 and dish bracket to 22.5. My problem is that when i drive the motor withe the reciever to Thor i can use a meter to get the strongest signal but only get 20% quality, But if i drive it a bit further west with the reciever i can get 87% but then i can't get any other satellites. can anyone offer me any advice. |

You have to align the dish to thor manually, i.e using your hands not the motor, as you need to get the alignment right such as the elevation as well as the east and west direction. Concentrate on the quality level, if you are not aligned correctly on the arc then moving east or west won't get other satellites as you could be either above or below them!

Funny co-incidence only just bought the system of you last week, I've tried to align the motor manually by sending it to the position of thor and moving it by hand but i can only get 20% signal quality with the highest reading on the sat finder but if i drive it with the reciever to the position of thor and then a little further west i can get 87%. Can you tell me what i am doing wrong. |

You don't align it with the motor, you have to align it with your hands, gently taping the dish up/don/left or right, what you are explaining above is a classic alignment issue, when you do move the dish with your hands do very gentle movements as its easy to miss the satellite by miles if you are not gentle.

I know this makes me sound daft and probably frustrates everyone but do i have to send the motor to the position on thor via the reciever and then manually adjust it.

First, use receiver to send motor and dish to Thor 1w; then, manually adjust the dish only up and down; and/or side to side (this time manually moving motor and dish on the pole) till you get good signal; make sure you selected a good transponder in the receiver - the standard advice being to use the BBC World transponder of 11325 H.
