Do you have to flash the box to receive any channels

or should u be able to receive some channels before flashing the box...even if softwares out of date ?

as long as the box has software on, you should receive channels. it will find all the channels in a scan but you will only be able to view the fta ones as outdated software will not find the keys to view encrypted channels. you then have a choice of entering the keys manually or updating firmware to find the keys automatically every time they change.
