Default Is there such a thing as a plug n play cable box?

Hi guys n gals, ive had experience of setting up a starview box and a arnet box, both of these required me to connect them upto my PC via the serial cable, and flash with software, which wasnt a problem. A family member has since seen the boxs in action and would like to know if there is one he could buy that he could just take out the box, plug into his VM line and scan for channels. Hes abit of a techno phob and lives too far away from me, for me to pop round and set it up for him, so would have to be truely plug n play outta the box.

Cheers for any info you can give

i know of a plug a play but the work is already done. IE i got my box of a guy, vox one and just had to power scan myself and done. He had already flashed it.... so i guess at sounding silly, NO would be your answer lol unless you got someone to do the work and send

really i didnt think it was illegal to sell flashed boxes unless they arnt your boxes. i think its only illegal once you hook it up to your tele/cable feed for you know what.
