Hi folks
Just wondering is there much difference in lnb types. I have tried a Diamond ".1" lnb and a Titanium ".2" lnb and the Diamond came out slightly better, about 2% stronger signal over a 40 m cable run on my TM5400 and 1m Orbital dish, with the quality reading staying exactly the same over a number of satellites and channels. However the Diamond has filled up with water overnight, took it off and turned it upside down and the water inside the white cap was unbelievable, looked about 1/4 full! So now looking for a better quality single lnb for a 1m Orbital dish. I have read that some lnb's are better over longer cable runs such as my 40 metres of wf100. Your advice is much appreciated |

Go for Invacom, Inverto, MTI, all are good LNB`s

The Megasat 0.1 one also performs very well compared to the Inverto

Well then i repaired the Diamond lnb. When i removed the cap and drained the water i noticed there was a rough "casting" edge around the feed cone so i polished that away and re-sealed the cap and presto it was now working slightly beter than new. I could now pick up 26E in the rain where as i could only get it in fine weather before.Tunis was now about 55%.
BUT I bought an inverto silver tech Lnb, plonked it on and Tunis on 26E was now about 80%. After a bit of checking i found it improved most of the weaker channels on other sats as well. But some channels on 1 west had dropped down? I realised that it now tells the difference between 0.8 and 1 west and my dish is peaked on 0.8 (bbc world news) so if i move my dish a bit west the signal goes up on 1 west. Now then i started to look for 7W and to my suprise found a signal that i had not had on any other lnb before. After a scan i found City 7, Spacetoons and most other verticals at about 50%-56% on a 1m dish in s wales in mid afternoon! It seems to me this lnb is much more "precise" than others. What do you think? |

Probably the diamond was a s**t lnb!
(ok nanao?) ![]() It pays to try different lnb`s, great results though
