Default Need some help plz.

My dad bought one of the sky free to air boxes about 2 years ago I think, might have been longer, anyway last few weeks or so most of the channels are coming up pay £1 a month to view this channel etc.

Is there something that can be done about this, a new card or something or are they now charging people to watch them now?

Cheers.

SJ.

The channels that are displaying the £1/month message, are only available with a subscription.
Minimum subscription being £16/month,will rise to £17/month from September.

Hi swanseajack. Sky dont do a FTA box, they do a box to receive all their channels but require you to subscribe at different rates for different channel mixes.

What you can do is to receive fta channels like BBC, ITV and a few others without paying. In addidion to the fta channels there are also ftv (free to view) channels such as channel 4 and Five and others for which you need to pay a one off sum, about £20, for a card to descramble them.

Anything more than fta and ftv requires a monthly subscription.

Hi,

This is defiantly a sky box and it cost about £150, it used to pick up a load of channels all for free, its been working fine for a good few years, its pointed at the Astra satellite if that makes any difference.

I'm not talking stuff like the discovery channel etc just stuff like eurosport.

Cheers.

Eurosport is part of the news & events mix and is encrypted

http://www.sky.com/portal/site/skyco.../newsandevents

Thus a monthly subscription is required, min 2 mixes for £16.
