Hi everyone,
I have been reading these forums for a while but have ony now registered so hello! ![]() Anyway, I have been given a faulty Pace DITV-2000 off a friend which previously had all channels etc. One day it wouldnt turn on and displayed an 'ERR' code - my friend isnt sure what number was but thinks it said 'ERR3'. Hes given it to me to have a look at, and I have opened it up and cant see any obvious faults. I have given it a good clean with compressed air etc, and now when I turn it on there is no 'ERR' code message. Instead its standby light comes on and the LED below it flashes, but it wont come out of standby at all, and there is no video output on the TV. I can tell its recieving the IR signals from the remote by the bottom (third) LED lighting when I press a button, but thats it. ![]() Is there anything I can try to get this box going again? Anyway to perform a hardware/software reset? If not is there anywhere I could get the same/similar box again for him? (What model of 'original' boxes are most recommended? Dont want a Starview/Eurovox as they are too complicated for him - he lives in an Ntl/ex-C&W area) I would have a go myself but having read through all the guides here it doesnt seem like the easiest process, and it also wouldnt be worthwhile for me to buy all the neccesary equipment for just one box! Thanks in advance

Try pulling red jumper next to battery off for a couple of mins, replace then hold standbye and power on till 0000 on display, then press favorites, interactive, tv guide, tv, in that order, you should then have 4321 on display, then press ok, stb should then update, you need cable connected.
If you cant get anything on display and its stuck on standbye its probably psu fault, check capacitors . you will need to set net id if your in different area from where it was originaly. |

Thanks for your message, tried what you suggested and these were the results.
After pulling and replacing the red jumper the box now shows a video output! Its says "Virgin Media Loading" but then goes to static a second later with the same standby and flashing light ![]() Then I tried it again, this time following the rest of your instructions, and it came up with the following on screen:- Trying to tune for NIT Tuned for the NIT Timeout on recieving NIT Got NIT Finished Loading Building FAT Object found at A00200000 Built 000000001 FAT objects NVRAM Good flash at A0020000 Then it goes to static again with the standby light and flashing middle light (which I think means the return path is cut?)Anything else I can try now? Thanks for your help

Hold the up and down buttons in and power up, till it goes into engineers menu, then check if net id is 9999 , if so it needs setting with net id v2 on a fun card, check the frequency also that can be set using up, down, left, right ,and ok, buttons.

Hi,
Thanks for your message, I have just tried what you said and the net it is indeed set to 09999! Also the 'default frequency' is 666.750 I am not sure what I need to do now - the card is an original nt* card |

Thanks, If you dont mind me asking why doesnt the mosc work anymore? (Used to work fine with all channels) I have another box that has a mosc and its still working fine.
...and does a funcard auto-update with new keys, or does it have to be done manually each time they change? (My friend wouldnt know how to do this so it would be abit of a pain) Unless there is another type of card that does auto-update I should be using? Last edited by Raptor83; 09-08-08 at 04:25 PM. |
