how do you tell the diffrence between the cards?
been having a read and have done several jtags etc but stuck on card reading
all help greatly received

Stick it in the stb and check in the eng menu under the card section.

I think you need to go into the engineers menu .
> go to CONDITIONAL-ACCESS-STATUS page
> scroll down to SMARTCARD-VERSION/REVISION

If the first section says 'SP010' ,this confirms that the card is a ROM 10.
So im gueesing if it say 'SP11' its a ROM 11

I think thats how you tell mate,may be someone can correct me if wrong

Also if you try reading in 4.1 with programmer in phoenix mode, it will tell you and also eeprom revision, so you know what script to use for unlooper.
If you check in eng menu dont have cable connected.

if you look just to the right hand side of the barcode. you will have little numbers like this. 011###### = rom11.. or 010###### = rom10

Can vermin tell if you look in the eng menu with a mod stb and subbed stb?

yes they can but chances are rare unless they are watching you for something or maybe you have reported a fault.

also to add to the above no numbers usually means rom 10 but there are also rom 7 about that have no marking on them, they are usually the orangy yellow things....lol
