jtagging starview
hi using skymax_up 1.3 to jtag a starview clone. done loads in the past with a simple unbuffered jtag cable. the program starts the process and erases the rom on starview. when i go to write it comes up with an error message 'the parallel port could not be opened' the only difference in my set up is i have upgraded to sp3 on windows xp. any help would be appreciated.

If you get error "can't open parallel port" using SkyMax in windows xp press Ctrl+Alt+Del and bring up task manager. In the Process tab look for Skymax and end process, this will close Skymax. Now right click on skymax.exe - properties - compatibility and check the box Run this program in compatibilty mode for - choose Win98/Me. Click OK then open skymax, this should get rid of problem. Although I havent tried it with SP3.
