Hi im new to satellite systems so can anyone HELP?
I got for a gift from my partner the aldi mini sat system in the hope i could get eurosport its in the listing on the unit and the signal strength is good only to receive black screen the same for some other chans to. my question is does the unit need unlocking or updating in anyway? Is this done by the RS socket on the back? and if so can anyone direct me to a link or provide any info please. I have the dish setup Astra 19E and signal strength is very good. I live in the cumbria area and there are no obstructions. Any help is very welcome. Cheers Alan. Last edited by nanochickin; 08-08-08 at 07:26 PM. |

Double check your alignment. The receiver probably only thinks its on 19e because you have told it that it is
![]() Astra 1, 2 and IE @ 23.5e share similar transponder frequencies so it is possible you could be lined up on either of those satellites. Try telling you receiver its on Astra2 28.2e and do a scan, i'll bet that it will find something. If it doesn't try doing a scan on Astra 3/1E @ 23.5e You will find all the transponder info you need at _www.lyngsat.com ![]() Nano

Is it a digital receiver or an analogue one? The only free version of Eurosport available in digital transmits ONLY in German on 19E.
The English version is ONLY available in analogue on 19E. Various encrypted versions of Eurosport are temporarily available on some patched receivers, but they tend to come and go from week to week.

As already said, you need to check you are on the correct satellite.
Do a satellite scan, and list some channels you are getting AND their corresponding frequencies. From this information, the satellite you are on can be deduced. Robbo

Hello, my neighbour has a Tevion digital sat receiver which he bought from Aldi recently for his mobile home T.V.
I have set it up for him but did not get any instructions, it looks like the receiver comes pre programmed with the available channels. There is an RS232 port on the rear of the unit which I would imagine suggests it can be upgraded or programmed etc. The only product information on the receiver is TEVION VISION 1435 on the main sticker and on a smaller one RG405 DS1 with a S/N I presume. Can anyone give me an idea if this unit can be programmed or updated or is it possible to rescan for English FTA channels? All we can pick up at the moment on 19.2* is $ky news and BBC World. Any info greatly appreciated. |

buying it, yes it can be preprogrammed, but should have everything in its brain. I surgest you go to factory reset(code if it is new?0000), this can do no harm and should reset to everything, have a look at a comag silvercrest SL 65 on the net, if it looks the same(should be) I can guide you, have you put a motor on it yet? instructions at COMAG DE, downloadable. hope this helps PPS there is a picture of the silvercrest on comag de,go to english lang if it is, download the silvercrest instructions.http://www.comag.de/foto/download/BDA_SL_65_12.pdf this one is in German, is this the same set.I could not get the English version its in a zip file. PPS(2), I have made further inquiry,Aldi(Tevion)Lidl (comag) all made by the same factory, rebadged for stores. Bob Last edited by merlodlliw; 17-08-08 at 10:52 AM. |

Hi, I have tried a few quick replies but they do not seem to have registered so forgive me if this is a repeat.
The unit given in the link is not the same receiver. The one my M8 has is the tree button model like the one shown on ebay : Link removed as item no longer available Hope this does not infringe any rules, only copied to show correct model. My M8 is only wanting to get a few English channels like BBC1, BBC2, and ITV freeview channels. Would it be best to tune in to Astra 28* E for these channels? ![]() Many thanks for any advice given.
