Yes the card swap have started and the software in most boxes will be upgraded to NDS in the near future.

Once it goes to NDS its game over. (Its what Sky UK use)

It will be subscription or card share only.

Sorry Analoguesat,
Sky UK is of no interest for many hackers. That's why NDS Videoguard was so "secure".
Sky Italia was hacked (I don't know details).
However, when Premiere will move on Videoguard (I think they did it yesterday), it will be hacked. Not tomorrow, but soon enough. Think of all East-Europeans surrounding Germany, most of them being good to best programmers, that watch Premiere.

In fact, if you really, REALLY, need to know, all CI algorithms have the same fundamental flaw, only implementing details being different. Once these would become known (and they are apparently due to interception of a firmware) the software solutions will appear. This is why they want to change to CI+, to avoid the flaw.

PS: I would not exclude the revenge of Kudelski (it was said that NDS helped the hackers against Nagra2).
