Default lightening dont call BT

Myself and two neighbours all had the phones knocked out by lightening
two weeks ago, the strike was on the outside lines, we have all been
charged £189, wait for this.

1.Two neighbours charged for new main sockets, all changed by BT, engineers said they are told to do this, even though they have not blown,
one neighbour queried this on site, asking why engineer had not tested it.

2.The engineers on the same day(two vans) 30th July, were seen up the
pole outside my house that feeds the neighbours, I was out.
I am charged by BT £189 who state it was lightening from my home that
blew the outside line, IE the lightening came into my home from the mains
then travelled to the BT lines on the pole. What rubbish, as the BT main socket is working in my home.

I responed that I had taken out every plug, and nothing was connected to any BT line in my home, I take out all plugs on all computers, phones, aerials, mains plugs to TV etc etc.Whenever lightening is local, experience taught me this.

I will be told by BT in two weeks of the decision, I have contacted experts
(friends) who tell me it is impossible to know which way lightening travels
and take the complaint to BT disputes dept, I have also been told by a
BT staff member, that as openreach is a profit centre now,and all engineers are on targets, and you will get billed no matter what happens
unless you make a stand, so beware.
