Hi Guys, I gave up on the idea of going motorised as I found it too difficult to set or maybe I gave up to easy!
Any way I have a 90cm fortec star dish and I now want to mount 3 lnbs on it for 28. 19 and 13. What gear would I need? I have sourced tk brackets and a pole, cable is in place but I suspect there is water in it. The wife wasn't pleased with my last attempt to motorize so I want to keep this simple. Thanks in advance |

Hi, not sure if Fortec do a bracket for their dishes, it would be tricky to get it working with homemade ones.
Your best option would be to get a Triax TD110 or TD88, and buy the bracket that they do specifically for it. Setup then should be a doddle. Robbo

Yep, made my own too, from whatever was lying around. Much easier with the proper bracket though.
Incidentally,it is possible to get a 4-way Diseqc switch working with a monoblock. You short out the first two inputs and connect to the monoblock. apparently.

Thanks for the advice, when you fitted the wood was it at 90 degree's to the arm, then you just slide it along until you found 28. I take it you can get a twin lnb set up for 13 & 19 and again alter it to fit another dish if one cant be found to fit my Fortec?

A 'twin' LNB is not actually the correct terminology, it is a monoblock, and can be used on any reasonably sized dish.
However, due to the switching problem, it is better to get single LNBs from the start. The 13E and 19E LNBs will be quite close together anyway, and a lump of wood between them and some cables ties should be sufficient, with the dish focussed on 19E.

I think the bracket is only about £15, it may be possible to fit it onto your dish with a homemade adapter.
