hellow
help needed my SB5100E flashed with sigma keeps unlocking from a frequency was working fine untill last nite when i lost conection. modem locks on a frequency once in a while and frequencys varys most of the time when the modems recieves light gows solid before it has a chance for the send signal to be solid the recieve signal will start flashing agen and then i have to wait however long it takes for the modem to recieve signal, send signal then go online. at the moment it is locked on 323000000 up stream chanel 3 was working fine the last few months ANY ADVICE WILL BE REALLY APPRECIATED im from birmingham sandwell thanx Last edited by naj786; 12-08-08 at 11:20 PM. |

dont have any advice to help you but surely as you have had your modem up and running to can give advice to others who needs help

yes i know what you mean but i wouldnt say it is up and running whenever it does go online browsing is terribly slow and the modem willl loose signal then find it again

my mate had same problem, we tracked it down to a bad conection on one of the f-plugs, we repaired the wire now its all good again.
you need to check the signal levels |

just check all the cables coming from the wall outside all the way to the modem, you ned good solid connections
the signal levels are on the modems webpage 192.168.100.1 i think its the d/s levels, i think they should be between -6db and +6db ideal level but will work at -11db to +11db, anything higher/lower will give bad connection my mates was fluctuating up and down between 9db and 24db, so i knew straight away the connection was bad so i repaired the wire and now his level is on 6db, just in the good range Last edited by racky29; 24-08-08 at 11:24 PM. |
