Default Which EV box have I got?

Hi all and what a lovely summer we're not having!
A mate of mine has asked if I could update his ev box but am not sure which model it is. System info reads as follows Model DVB-XC box ,S/W SSC4 oct 20 2006 ,H/W 2.0 oct 20 2006, Bootstrap v001. Can anyone id and can it be updated??

looking through the top air vents how many slots long is the tuner (where you plug the cable feed in)

its a blue box m8 use the 21/04/08 blue box file
New Eurovox Firmware here

4 rows of 24 to the right, 2 rows of 24 to the left.
The silver tuner is 12 slots long.

not how many slots there are but how many slots the length of the tuner itself is.
The length of the tuner wil be either 8 slots = red and black boxes, or 12 slots = blue or clone boxes

ronster has already indicated that it is a blue box and I would trust him to be right.

And finally, can i transfer channel info from my own Max v box to the blue box or not. I hav a saved file for mine.

I have never actually done it with different Eurovox's (have with starviews) but I would expect it to work no problem

yes you can use any cdf file on any box 08,07 or 06 not sure about the latest PVRs though although i cant see any reason why they wouldnt work

Yes is does transfer ok. I used the relevant dnupman for the blue box, just to be on the safe side.
