Aaaannyway, from what i remember, i had further issues with AU not working a day after install. Each time i reinstalled vplug and mdapi and got all channels working, literally one day later i lost all non fta channels.
So...without reformatting i just installed the latest MP v1.0.2.0 and used vplug.2.4.1 (i tihnk) and mdapi 2008.
Everything was hunky dorey. Then i started getting the one day issue again, and this turned out to be a dodgy 'FFDecsa.dll' file. I downloaded a fresh one, replaced the crappy one and since then its been fine....more or less.
It aint a perfect setup as MP is always 'in development' and i don't have the best card around, but it pretty much works fine now.
By the way....the old MP tut was crap, and somebody moaned about it over at dvbn forums. So....someone made a better one.
This assumes you've ALREADY installed MP and got your channels scanned and setup. This actually helps you install vplug and mdapi to unscramble all channels on your dvb-c card.

Hope it helps. Feel free to PM me or post back and i'll try and help out as much as i can.
wicked! cheers very much. Expecting my card (actually a USB dvb-c tuner) tomorrow, so will get cracking as soon as.

expect me back soon....

Its this one:

Play.com (UK) : TerraTec Cinergy HTC USB XS HD Digital TV Reciever : Computing - Free Delivery

According to posts on MP forums it works in MP and uses a BDA driver, so should work.......

I have a slimline media centre and most PCI cards won't fit

I have installed and had MP, MDAPI amd VPLUG working under many different OS and can provide a piece of advice.

TT1501 does not like Vista 64bit. It works but is unwatchable as it tears the picture.

MDAPI does not install under Vista 64bit.

If some one wants me to review a guide sent it to me as I have done this over 50 times. Apologies for not writing I have not had time but if we get a good guide we can sticky it.

This is always a challange but like everything is easy when you do it it the correct order.

aaahhh mr Ugg. Feel free matey, you helped me out in the past so you're probably the best qualified here to do a guide review.
Mine is working fine now (well, mostly) but i tend to forget what i've done, so even though i've also installed it quite a few times, i have to rattle my brains to recall exactly what and how i do things.
That said, i think the tut i quoted a few posts back is quite clear for installing vplug and mdapi. And installing MP v1 is nowhere near the ball-ache it used to be.

I'll be interested to see how tdw197's usb dvb-c card turns out....

it turns out frickin great!

I must be the only person to which this has happened, but thanks to Jacko, everything worked FIRST TIME.

Am now watchin BBC HD via MP and the Usb DVB-C card - quality's not quite as good as my V+ box, but pretty damn good.

Only point is that I'm missing a few channels (notably some of the movie channels ), but I should be able to manually tune these, the frequencies are a bit odd in my area, but I have them all on my dm500c.

It seemed complicated, but got there in the end, mainly thanks to jacko.

Good on yer mate, glad its working out for ya.
If it wasn't for users like Ugg, Ace_Bingz and Willin (to name but a few) on here, i would probably have ditched MP and dvb-c ages ago, so by proxy they helped too.

Am very interested in this usb dvb-c card. It means i could get a real low profile case without needing the room for a pci-e card, cos the tuner sits outside the case.
Wicked!

Yeah its a dead neat solution, also has capture capability via svideo.

Not entirely convinced by MePo/TVServer. A fair number of times I have had MePo throw up an error when trying to start a channel (no audio/video or no card detected). Is this par for the course - I know MP can be a bit flaky....

HD channels can be a bit jerky too... prob to do with deinterlacing on my 780g mobo though.

How reliable do you find MP for TV, and any tips?

[couple of complaints above, but I am watching the cricket on an MP client very smoothly accross my wireless network ]
