Default Would Sammy work in my area?

Hi chaps

I've been offered a Samsung 2100c which had been working in London. I believe it is Virgin now but ex cable and wireless.

Does anyone know if it would work in Grimsby? (Pure NTL)
I don't know if it is a Docsis (is it Docsis?) area? Would it be compatible?

Cheers

Thanks for the info mate. Any idea if the net ID would auto update? I think I read somewhere it does in pure NTL?

Just hold the pwr+left+right+tv+ok as soon as you power up the box and when the front panel states ld06 go into the em to check if the netid has reset to 09999. Then all you do is leave it on stream and it will auto update the netid.

Dont forget to cut talkback or fit a 50db noise blocker.

Thanks for the advice lads. I'm a bit concerned as someone told me the network ID will not auto update as the box is ex c&w and I am in a pure NTL area? I am not clued up enough to desolder any chips etc.

Can anyone confirm I would be either buggered or it would update?
Box has been working in London, ex c&w and I want it to work in Grimsby.

I'd appreciate confirmation either way as I'll be wasting beer money if the network ID is locked!!!

Okay. Thanks

I've been reading a 2100 tutorial which mentions "For you to set the net id and pin you will have to remove the 8 leg chip from the top side of the board located (as shown in pic below) and blank the chip with whichever proggramer you have"

That's why I was getting a little worried!!
