Just got one for £20 and new to doing cards.

First off where do you put the card in this machine, is it with name of card showing at top or bottom.

totaly stuck can someone please get me started with the basics.

First you need to download the Cas software from duolabs.
Go to duolabs home page, click on the download link, and Cas Studio.
Download and install Cas Studio 8.5a, do not connect your Cas programmer until this is finished.
Once the software is installed you can connect your Cas programmer and Windows will find it and install the drivers.
Judging by the price you have paid I would guess you have the older Cas 2 programmer with the add on to program cards, is this correct?
If you go to duolabs home page and click on products you will see a link to Cas Studio 2 +Plus, this is one of the later versions and if you picked this up for £20 you got a very good deal.
What type of card are you trying to program?
When programming the card it usually goes in with the chip facing down.
