Hi i am new to all things satellite ,i have just moved house and have stoped my sky package and want to get my own sat in etc. I would be looking to watch all the football that i can all leagues. Can anyone tell me what to buy ? The bigest sky dish i can find ? What sort of receiver would i need to buy ? A very expensive one ? or does it really matter ? What abut all these sat cards knocking about are they worth the money ? Any input would be great guys cheers .

hi chris
a good start depending on you needs are a fixed dish for 19.2/13 and any decent reciever ie technomate. this would get you a fair amount of channels dish size 80 cm if money no object look at a mototrised mount and the look into either diablo cam or eurovox quantum. maybe a 1 metre dish and this would bring in loads of channels. rgds james |

forgot to add
you pay your money and take your chance when buying cams and cards for unoffical packages as we should not be viewing. but hey a diablo cam is about 130 including a programmer and gets probably a couple of hundred quid a month in packages |

In most areas now you are allowed dishes up to 1 Metre without the need for planning permission.
If installing a motiorized dish you really need to discover where it is best to site it, ideally you want to have it facing due south and give you a clear line of site 45 degrees east and west of south. This will provide you with a lot of satellites to view and give you greater options in the future. If you are lucky enough to have an open south facing garden then installation is a lot easier with a ground mount. You can start off with a cheap receiver, and upgrade later, or go for a top of the range HD receiver, there are so many different receivers to choose from, depending on your budget, and needs, that it is almost impossible to recommend one. |

You won't get all the football, only the odd game that is open on a patch, if you want to watch football you will have to pay for it and it won't be cheap!

OK so you may possibly buy the DM600PVR, good choice. The problem with Cams and cards like the Gamma is that the support will probably only usually lasts at most for a few years
![]() The teams get greedy and stop supporting cards so you have to go out and shell out for a new card again at a stupid price The prime example of this was the K3 card ![]() The Dreambox is more or less future proof in this aspect and you can also card share with it which in my mind makes it a good choice ![]() The seller you have chosen is also well trusted as he is an approved Dream multimedia retailer. Its 99.9% unlikely that you will end up with a clone from this guy ![]() As for the motorised package i wouldn't touch it with a bargepole. The Faval dish is a load of sh*t, very flimsy as too is the mount and fixings. The mount is the sort you cant get 100% vertical and they have a tendency to snap off in high winds. You also don't know what brand the motor is either. I would give that set up a miss and buy everything individually. ![]() Nano
