Cool Need help, which HDTV

Hi,

I have cleaned out my poker account and have decided to buy a PS3 and HDTV but need some help deciding on what to go for. Here is my current situation, any suggestions would be greatly appriciated.

Budget for tv: About £1000. Idealy this needs to include a sound system and stand.
Desired: 40" - 42" full hd (does the full hd even make a difference to they eye on half hd?)
Use: Primarily for TV and PS3. I do download movies though and was hoping to be able to transfer them to the PS3 and play them directly off the hard drive, or even just through my PC. Is this even possible?
Finance: While potentaily I could pay outright if I wanted to, I'm probably a little short if buying them both at the same time. Are there any good finance deals on these tv's?

All recomendations are welcome, also let me know what I should be looking out for.

Many thanks
