Eurovox max v - can't find channels please help - Techwatch: Satellite TV forums, FTA, Cable, Hardware, & Tech forums

hi all. My name is kay and a newbie in this area. Yesterday bought eurovox max v and it is only finding 11 channels. Tried power scan but nothing. Any help please?

Have you updated to the latest firmware?

I think so as the friend who got me this said that he has done it and he got all channels at his home. When I plugged it in then I could see channel list but it showed a message "no signal". I then did power search and ended up with those 11 channels (animal planet, discovey channels, CNN and Sony tv Asia).

Does this friend live in a different town than you? Maybe you are scanning the wrong symbol rate

he lives in reading and I'm in London. I have recently moved to this house and there was a virgin line already in the house

What is the symbol rate for London. Would it be different for different parts of London ?

reading is 6887 most of london is 6952

tried it but still the same. I'm in surrey so is there any chance of different code ? Thanks for your replies really appreciate that (sorry to be a pain)

surrey is 6887

try doing a factory default reset.
Menu/Config/Clear data/Pin number
you get the choice to erase all channels or factory default
Choose Factory Default and (Set your symbolrate in the symbolrate option)
You will now get a screen showing Full Powerscan with symbolrate below it (also a red button for advanced install)
Pressing OK on this screen will do a full powerscan
