hi all

I have had a ambit 250 off a mate its untouched, i understand i need a rs232 (can anyone provide a link where to get the correct one i need at a decent price)

and is there any software similar to the ambit tool that will crack / flash the modem automaticaly (i understand the ambit tool is for writing the macs etc after is been flashed) but is there anything similar that will flash it for me?

Hi CRUSADER have you tried the FTA forum on here theres lots of useful apps in there to help you do the 250 modem to the best of my knoledge there isnt any easy 123 step programs to do it for you it takes a compilation of 4-5 programs working together to flash the modem with the lead you suggested but its easy because theres a step by step guide to take you through the process.

Theres even a way to find out if the modem is barred straight away just by turning it on but you will have to google that one ive forgot what it was since last i did mine.

ambit modems are easy to config with the ambit tool so your lucky if you got a flashable 250 there hard come by now. For the cable check ebay its what i did you can get one of them and a blackcat cable with a software disk for something like 12quid delivered and they only have to be used once if done right, check it out.

hi again what type of rs232 cable will i need i have the standard one that you can link the eurovox and starviews and the boxs up to pc but isnt it a different one for the ambits?

hiya i dont think im allowed to post direct links to stuff or recommend stuff in the forum most forums are gay like that but type something like MAX232 233 / EQ 233 into ebay and it will bring up the part you need then ask the seller about the pin out configurations ect i believe its the same cable and circuit but to be honist ive not moved onto the tv side of things yet not even mastered the modems yet wink wink and am reading through the faqs on flashing cards ect.
