Default Question about the Eurovox

At the moment we subscribe to Sky+. however the signal is forever breaking up and despite paying top whack for all the channels they seem very reluctant to do anything about it.

So i was thinking about trialing this eurovox in my bedroom.

Am i right in thinking that i simply connect this box to my TV, upload some firmware then manually input frequencies and i can get all these channels without any satellite or phone connections?

if not what exactly needs to be plugged into the eurovox?

thanks for tolerating a noob!

everything comes down the same line so your broadband will do just use a splitter and away you go

thats correct
your box may or may not come with the latest firmware that descrambles the channels so you may have to flash the box with the latest firmware, to do this you will need a null modem cable (sometimes supplied with the box)
If you only have a laptop you may need a usb adaptor as well.

A null modem cable looks exactly the same as a rs232 cable but is wired differently
the cable connects your box to the PC to transfer the firmware to your box.
you download to your PC the latest Unified Flash Loader which has the file you need built into it, this file is then downloaded from your PC to your box via the null modem cable.
