Hi buster498 if your hearts set on a moto then from my what i understand i would try and get the SB5100 or the SB101E theres a 5120 i think but that hasnt been hacked yet.

alternatively you can get an ambit250 that can be flashed easily, theres a 256 model but that might as well be classed as un-flashable as you need some fancy gear to program the tsop chip on the modems circuit board also you have to have good soldering skills to remove that chip and then put it back in.

what ever you decide you will need some leads and software to help flash the modem the leads can be found on ebay for nothing and the software can be obtained from the FTA section in these forums. Hope that helps

the motarola 5100 and 5101e can be flashed with the infinite firmware same as ambits as both modems are very similar. to do the motarola its recommended to have a blackcat/usbjag incase its locked and you wanna rewrite the flash. then u need an rs232 to flash new firmware on it but u can get an adaptor for that i think with the usbjag so it can do both tasks. motarolas are the better modems as if it gets bricked u can flash it agen without removing chips unlike the ambits..but to be far ambits aint even that hard to remove. if u practise on an old board with flash chips removing them and then relaying them you will pick it up quiet fast but the willem programmer will set ya back 55 quid as the usbjtay is only 20/30 quid so choice is yours
