Default Problem with Technomate USB

Good afternoon all,

Greetings to everyone - I am a relative newbie and this is my first post.

I have read somewhere that it is possible to update the software/hardware in my receiver by
using the USB port in lieu of RS-232 cable. My laptop has no 9-pin serial socket.

Well, I've tried it, but I think without success.

I downloaded the three zipped files from Technomate, unzipped them and put them onto a
memory stick formatted FAT32.
The three files are:
1. TMLoader.exe
2. Technomate-TM5300D_5200D_116_08-05-2008.stb
3. Technomate-TM5300D_5200D_115_02-05-2008.stb
I don't know what the difference is between 2. and 3., apart from the date.

So, having got these on the memory stick, I then insert it into the receiver, pressed the
green button, data transfer, and there I can see the two .stb files, but not the .exe.

And now, the bit I can't understand.
When I select one of the files, click NDF Upload, one or more .cndf files are written to the
memory stick. Clicking the .cndf files appears to have no effect with the receiver.
Checking the system info, nothing has changed.

System info:
Tm-5200D USB
S/W 1.07 (Dec 13 2007)
H/W 1.10
Boot 1.12 (08:21)
CH Sept 2007

So, it looks like I'm doing something wrong and would very much appreciate some help with this one.

Many thanks.

You dont need TM loader thats for using serial port, press usb then data transfer, then ok on each file , you only really need the latest one, have a read up on the darkman patch if you want to open a few channels, you put that in the same way.

For other newbies:
The problem I had was very simple, yet not immediately apparent.
Instead of pressing OK on the remote, I pressed NDF Upload. So in effect I uploaded channel lists to the memory stick instead of downloading .stb file details to the receiver.
