Hmm.

Im having some problems and REALLY REALLY would appreciate some help.

Im trying to get tomtom to work on my N95 8 gig but I cant get it to run.

I have a N95 and tom tom works fine on that, installs no probs. Ive even updated the firmware to version 20.0.015 and its all great.
HOWEVER.... I have updated my N95 8 gig to the same version and just cannot get tomtom to work on it, i get the tomtom flash screen with just the world spinning forever. It usually just comes up for a split second on the n95 just before the legal agreement page.

The only way I can stop the application is by switching the phone off and back on, otherwise it just says there.

The version of TomTom is TomTom 6.02 Symbian S60 3rd Ed.

I have read about people copying folders over, I have tried this and it doesnt work for me. Could someone perhaps help, or give a better explanation of the process your using..... Perhaps its my version of tomtom?

Thanks a lot in advance...

IXL

PS, I use an BT external GPS device, so im not that worried about getting the internal to work, I just want tom tom to run... lol

I used to work for o2 and n95 have a real issue with the software it works on try updating the n95 with the latest software from nokia as its a common problem for them to freeze but by updating it it can solve alot of problems.

I didnt really make it quite clear of the symtom. The tomtom application just doesnt seem to load, Once I start tomtom I get the world spinning screen but nothing more, during this, I can flick to the menu of the phone itself and say goto my messages, make calls etc, but the tomtom application just goes no further that the start up screen with the spinning world, it doesnt lock up the phone , but because the application doesnt quite load, I cant quit the application from running, so the only way to do that is to turn it off. If I try to go back to the application after leaving it, I get nothing. So im left with just being able to use the phone as normal, but a lot of resource is being taken up with an application thats trying to run.

Its a pain.

Im doing nothing different to the install on my n95 8 gig, that I did on my standard n95, which works fine.

If tomtom wont load and just stays on the spinning globe all the time it means that the location of the maps on your memory card are in the wrong place.

From what I can remember the maps get placed in their on folder in the root of your memory card, not within the tomtom folder.

Ill second that last post Garmin XT works miles better on any phone I have tried than tomtom does.

Also much easier to set up and get running.
