I've been given the task of getting a m8's EX5000 up & running. I had a look and the channels come up with "scrambled" after flashing by someone else so I flashed it using FTA 1.0.0.1 & got the same.

A2. If you had a CDF file it would save time scanning in all the channels but not really needed, you just need to do a Power Scan and make sure to put in the correct Symbol rate for your area. A3. NO most def not. D |

cheers dolphin, I've flashed it again & done a scan but still get the "scrambled channel" message?
The UFL file also shows as v1.0.0.1 so that maybe a problem? I'm sure I read somewhere that another box needed to be "j-tagged" to get around this problem, any ideas anyone? |

I have not had a problem with the PVR's needing to be Jtagged - dont go there yet, you normally only need to Jtag if the box has died, i.e. no lights showing on the display, can't come out of standby mode and so on.
If the box is letting you access the main menu and the channels (even though some might be scrambled) then the problem lies with the software loaded. I know you said you loaded the software again but funny things happen to file names. What does it say when you go into MENU - CONFIG - SYSTEM INFORMATION D |

are all chans scrambled or just the ppv ones
first make sure you install the correct software when scanning you will see the 8% on some frequencies/transponders b4 updateing the sw its always best to do a factory reset. make sure all connections are sound. make sure emu is enabled use ss1 to see if keys update |
