Default free sky?

I haven't got a clue where to start on this -

basically i've got a mate who has just got a eurovox cable box, unfortunately i can't get one cos i don't have a cable connection in my house i do have a sky dish and box but my sky is on basic free view channels -

the question i wanna ask is -

can i get a box for satellite without having a sky subscription and if so what one would you recommend ( i wanna pay up to 200 for it tho , no more )

any help on this would be well appreciated lads n lasses

Moved to a more appropriate section.

SKy via satellite is secure scrambled.

You want it = you pay for it.

The alternative is a card share using a linux box which could give you "free channels". HOWEVER, you either need to bring to the card share ring a wanted foreign card - THIS IS NOT CHEAP or pay a commercial server whatever price they are asking.

TBH at the end of the day you may as well pay the sky subs in the first place and get guaranteed viewing.

Looking back over the years and the procession of CAMs that were rapidly superceded by the next 'must have' development, you can end up spending a lot of money to 'steal' TV programs only to have it stop working 5 minutes into the big match.

Once you get blacklisted from sky theres no way of being able to get sky ever again like my friend he had sky hd free for some time until he got caught.
