Does the box take time to warm up? I put the box on from standby (showing the clock) and for 30 mins or a bit more it was unwatchable the picture kept going jagged, pixelated and freezing and a horrible crackling sound kept occuring and i never heard these types of sounds when i had legal cable. I looked at the channel reception and it was 81%. So i updated the channels and it was slightly better but it was still poor. Now after the box has been on for about 4 hours the picture has settled down and i only get minor freezing. Have i just got to accept that as it is free the picture will not be 100% or is there something wrong with my box? It has been doing the same for the previous 2 nights as well.

there is something wrong mate. try direct connecting the cable to the box ie not through splitter if this does not cure it id say you have an issue with your box. I have same as you and its sweet you should not have those freezing issues mate...

Now when the box is freezing the screen has gone black and a purple box comes up and says: please wait while code is being updated it then says no or bad signal and i am left with a black screen. This kept happening for a couple of minutes so i switched it off at the wall and put it back on, the picture is there but it still is freezing.

did you do a factory reset b4 scanning you could also try reinstalling the fw nothing to lose by that. if after trying these things and its still the same check the signal level on a chan that you have probs with.If the sig level is too hi or low this can cause the problem a signal of about 80/85% should be ok if its higher you could try an attenuator to reduce the signal also check all connections are sound |
