Hi, so my eurovox ultra (dm500c clone) works perfectly when using a short coax cable and picks up all channels.
It used to work OK with my long (11-12m) cable but the performance has deteriorated to the point where channels like sly sports 1 & 3 , several movie channels etc.. don't work at all and others are not working very well, however many channels still work perfectly. The problem is obviously with the long cable as all channels work with a short cable. I am quite confident I have fitted the f-connectors correctly as I have redone them a few times and still no joy. The coax cable is stapled along my wall, which does include one or two 90 degree bends, is this my problem? Also, if this is my problem, does this mean this particular coax is weakened for good..or will it be ok if I straighten it out? And if this may well be the problem, is there any coax cable that can withstand a lot of bending? And lastly, would a signal booster help with my problem? thanks in advance for any help |

My mother in law had similar probs with her cable. It'll be due to the cable being longer so the signal is weakened. Best bet is here mate. I got one of these for the M-I-L and it works a treat.
I've switched my coax for a shorter cable and the signal has increased on some channels that were a bit dodgy before so I'd say it's defo to do with the cable length but I can't see how bending it would matter other than if it was actually doubled up. Putting it round a corner shouldn't matter I wouldn't have thought. |

Thanks m8 that info is really useful, good to know the problem is 'sortable'.
One thing though, the product you sent a link of, doesn't it have TV aerial connections? How could I use this with my coax which has f-connectors? |
