Exclamation Rgb

I have the Euro vox v Black Box,the other day I lost the red colour on all TV channels, (its not the tv) so I went into the menu in the Euro box, then to TV settings and checked if it was still on RGB,yes it was,and I noticed there was no red any where in the menu at all, what was supposed to be red was black, the other colours were there, but if I set it to CVBS and not RGB I get the red back any idea what causes this or any one know thanks again.

Dodgy cable perhaps, or not plugged in properly.

It is most likely a duff or unseated SCART cable but you may be unlucky and have the problem I've had, this is the thread I started about it:

Anyone had this problem?

The problem is the Red.
The "menu in the Eurovox Box" has four colours Red Green Yellow and Blue, the Red colour does not work it stays at Black.
So in the Eurovox Box Menu's the only colours which I can see are Black Green Yellow and Blue (where as the Black should be Red for the buttons).
This is set from the Eurovox for TV settings as RGB,the red don't work when set to RGB in the box.
I know the TV is good.
I know the cables are good.
I know the scarts are Good.
I know the TV is set correctly.
I know the AVs are good.
I know the incoming signal is good.
I know there are no bad pins.
Will some kind expert give a reason thanks.

Yes, it does sound like the exact problem detailed in my thread.

I reckon mine has a dry joint somewhere in the the red circuit. It may even be as simple as a dry joint in the joint that joins the red pin in the SCART socket to the circuit board. I took the shielding off the SCART socket to investigate but it proved too fiddly for me so I have never got round to trying again.

It may not be the expert opinion you're looking for but I reckon I'm probably pretty near the mark.

My own opinion its a software chip inside the Eurovox on the circuit board, though it might be a dry solder joint some where else on the board,I dont think its the firmware chip, any one else come across this.

Have you got a soldering iron? Why don't you try touching up the red pin on the PCB where the Scart connector is soldered in.

Thanks for the reply,as for PCB boards and PC boards and satellite Boards,I am as near to the mark with most problems and TV sets, this one has got me stumped,as I said its the circuit board that might have a problematic chip on,here is an image with the correct colours on the menu, notice the colours in the menu buttons,I do not have Red its colour is Black, and I would say at a pinch its one of the two mentioned previously by me,I don't want to open the box at the present time as the (CVBS) works fine and I get the correct colours from that on the TV,and the buttons in the menu are correct with CVBS.

Sorry about the large image did not have time to reduce size, but here are a couple of sample images where the colours are correct, these show Black in my menu and I have to use CVBS to get the Red.

I tried but it is really hard to get to even when the PCB is removed and the shielding taken off from around the socket.
