Problem with R4 card

I met the same problem with the R4DS card bought from Gamesyeah.com , initiallly , i thought i was a fake card.
However, i have searched the answer the Google
click on the calender and set it back a year.
Quite simple to fix this problem .

Hi...just bought an r4 card off my friend its a R4I-GOLD..I formatted the 2G sd card and downloaded a kernel for it and extracted it. I then dragged the files to SD card and put games on it. When i put the r4 card into the ds lite, all i get on the top screen is a red sign that looks like a sim card with the word menu in it...,,can any1 please help.

yes, the red sd card symbol means wrong or incorrectly installed firmware.

there must be half a dozen diffrent versions of r4i gold card ,
all of these cards have diffrent firmware which is not compatable with other r4igold cards.

there should be a web address on the card, use that to look up your correct firmware here.

Hi i bought a r4isdhc dual core card, which was working perfectly fine for a week or two , and then one day i was playing it in the morning and then had some lunch and when i went back to the dsi it still showed the spongebob icon so when i selected it the r4card gets stuck on the loading screen. Please can you help. I can understand if it was like this from the start but no it was working fine at first but now all i see is a loading screen. Pls help
