hi, can anyone tell me why i can't get itv hd on my newly bought dreambox. All I see is a black screen with a message saying "this service is currently unavailable." I am totally new to all things satellite so please help if you can, thanks from gogglebox!

I assume that you have a Dreambox 800 which is the only one that will open HD channels at present.

ITV dont transmit HD all the time so that may be one reason. Another reason is that there are some image problems with ITV HD and it is being looked at by some of the image coders. Which image are you using?

Thanks jimdefruit, yes it is a dreambox 800 and like I said I'm a complete novice at it all. I can get bbc hd and continental hd channels I don't have any cards, just the box itself. Can you tell me what you mean by what image am I using? (told you I was a novice!)

When there is nothing showing on ITV HD, that is the message you get.

gogglebox, an image on the Dreambox is the equivalent of xp or vista on a PC. The big difference is that an image is more friendly and can be changed very easily.

Unfortunately I dont have an 800, only a 7000 but I think that probably, the LT image is the best image for the 800 at the present time.

can anyone tell me what the message "SID not found in PAT" means? This shows on the screen just before getting a satellite picture.
