Exclamation Cloned Euro max?

Hey guys,

I'll try to keep this short

Basically, I bought a Eurov*x MaxV off a bloke on ebay for £85 inc P&P. I have one of these myself bought from cableboxshop, but I had to resort to ebay as said website now only stocks the PVR.

Anyway! Opened the box up and there are some striking differences.

1) The writing on the front of the box is grey, as opposed to white.
2) The top right has "Eurovox MaxV" rather than just "Eurovox"
3) It says "digital satellite receiver" under the display rather than "MaxV"
4) (Maybe my imagination playing tricks) the box feels slightly heavier.
5) The inside of the box looks different under the vents.
6) the buttons on the remote are lighter in colour.
7) the remote is longer and thinner.

Now normally I'd conclude it was a clone and not harass anyone here. But as far as I am aware, if you try to put the software on the box, it bricks it. Well I successfully put the software on it and my own .cdf file and it's working perfectly. So I am somewhat confused.

So...the final question is - is my new box a clone?

And for extra credit, if it is but is working perfectly, does it really matter?

Sorry for bothering you all!

i have a cloned blue ev been working fine for over 2 years. flashed it with the max blue last in october last year works a treat, not suggesting you do the same as people more learned than me say not to. i have also transferred the cdf file from my max blue clone to my pvr ex5000.
